Spline IK and/or follow path for a belt

Hi all,
I looking for someone to make a spline IK for my animated belt (see attached picture for an example how I use it). The belt mesh is alread rigged and I have already done a curve and put bones along the curve but didn’t go further. Maybe it’s better to start the curve from scratch
I would also be interested in trying a “follow path” strategy. Other ideas are welcome to animate this belt “easily”.
