HELP Needed to test UPBGE 0.1.4 Windows Builds [SOLVED]

Hello,

I had bug reports in upbge 0.1.3 release and it seems the bug is not solved yet.
If you have a moment, could you test these builds and tell me if one or several have bugs please?
Can you send me a PM with the following number versions working and the versions not working.

Another uncertain try based on the observation that blenderplayer stubs.c contains a function related to collada and another related to ndof and that in Akira_san build, he didn’t checked collada neither ndof… I can’t reproduce the bug on another machine on windows 10 64 without development environment :confused: ahhhh

Because:

  • I can’t reproduce the bug and I haven’t enough infos to know what is wrong.
  • We need a dev that can reproduce the crash.
  • BF blender is still compiled with MSVC 2013 so they can’t have issues reports for now related to this issue.
  • upbge requires MSVC 2015 on windows (so we have to wait that BF blender will be compiled with MSVC 2015 to have more feedbacks and infos)
  • We need to share something that works for maximum people even if this means to skip some features (I hope not too important)

Note for me and upbge devs:

Almost impossible to solve without a dev who can reproduce the bug.

Do we have to compile these builds?Meaning you can just download and use them.

@Nicholas_A: Hi, no this is not because of a problem you had. When we released 0.1.3, Thatimster, J05HU4 and mataii reported freeze at game engine start. This was the first upbge built with MSVC 2015. Finally, I shared a built made with MSVC 2013 that worked (as far I know). But now, we can’t use anymore MSVC 2013 to build upbge and Thatimster told me that upbge 0.1.4 MSVC 2015 had a similar issue than when I released 0.1.3 MSVC 2015.

But Akira_san did a functionnal (at least for Thatimster) MSVC 2015 upbge built (but he unchecked some build options in cmake). So I have to find what build option cause the freeze at embedded player start with default scene (And I’m not 100% sure that the issue comes from build options so :mad: it makes me crazy).

My problem was that the embedded player would freeze.

@Nicholas_A: Ah ok, and now with the 0.1.4 build I shared on upbge website it is ok or not? Thanks for feedback.

For me number 1 doesn’t freezes but I have MSVC 2015 installed so maybe thats the reason why it works.

Number four does work.

What are all the dlls for anyway? There were never that many before.

@Nicholas_A: Thanks for your help/time (I added number 5) (The folder appearance changed (DLLs) a bit with MSVC 2015… Not the same cmakelists)

Finally I added a last… (number 7) But if this freezes I don’t understand… (I sent a built without ndof to Thatimster this morning and it freezed and Akira_san built with international and input ime…). Don’t see what options remaining I have to add… :confused:

Just tested all the versions on Windows 7 64 bit, only the first one freezes in the embedded player, as already said.
If needed, make this thread official for UPBGE’s release candidate testing on Windows, before releasing at the official site everytime. It’s a bit embarassing to have the same problem in the latest two releases just because the lack of testing. :frowning:
