Just tried the Filmic Blender “add-on” with a model I built a month or two ago. I am very impressed with the results…
As many of you know, Andrew Price just made a tutorial about this excellent tool on Blender Guru. This introduced me to it for the first time, and I’m glad he did. I found it much easier and more intuitive to adjust the single HDR map and keep things looking clean using this add-on, but I’m uploading this model to BlendSwap as well in case you want to do any testing with it (no hdr in that version though). It is still in the moderation queue, so give it a few days before you’ll be able to download. It’s CC-0 so essentially PD for you to do whatever you want to with it 
BTW I don’t really know what this is…it’s sort of like a mix between an engine and a turret I suppose, but pretty much just strangeness from my imagination =)
Perhaps you’d like to give your thoughts?
