Using Nvidia NVS 3100M GPU for Cycles accelerated computing

I have an HP Elitebook 8440p with an internal Nvidia NVS 3100m GPU. For some reason, it isn’t showing up in the list of cycles computation devices in the user preferences. Can anyone help me get it to work for accelerated computing in Cycles? It says here http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=5270&canMyGpuRunIt=Blender that it’s supposed to be supported.

Hi, the 3100m is way to old for Cycles, you need at least Compute Capability 2.1 and this card have 1.2 (http://www.nvidia.de/object/nvs_techspecs.html).
Even when it work it has only 16 Cuda Cores and 512 MB VRAM.
My old mid class GTX 760 has 1152 Cuda Cores and 4 GB.
Your card should be fine for display but not for render.

Cheers, mib

Shame. Thanks anyway.
