BluDragoon's Sketchbook of stuff and stuff accessories.

Hello reader! Welcome to my humble sketchbook where I post my more or less finished creations that don’t belong in the other sections of the forums…

(December 2016)
Around this time I learned how to do polygonal hair.

2017

Sorry for the imagery spam above without saying much as I really don’t have much to say other then between March and December last year I went from and novice to a more experienced modeler and had a lot of fun doing so while learning a lot. I sadly however know almost nothing about cycles, and none of the work above was created in cycles, in fact all of the above is more or less are screenshots from the view port as I haven’t yet made anything I consider worthy enough to get its own render yet… However, 2017 is where everything changes for me as one of my new years resolutions was to learn Cycles and get some-what decent in it and get better at polygonal management, with that being said I’ll post what all I’ve “finished” so far this year.

Fazertron assault rifle from Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon:

Low-poly Judge Dredd Helmet:

Shark anthro head (The rest of the body is an ongoing project):

And lastly my recent work, almost 2 weeks ago I drew this image of my avartar and decided to attempt to model his head in Blender and after 4 different attempts I came out with a really nice model with excellent polygon management and structuring compared to previous models. (Also had a ton of fun modeling him too)

And yesterday after listening to some aesthetical vaporwave I decided to turn my model into a bust and attempt to learn stuff in Cycles, however in the end I just rendered my model with just AO and added the rest of the detailing in paint.net:

Hello Mr. Dragoon, nice creature work so far (we don’t see too many creature-centric threads around this section). I also like how you keep on the tasteful side in terms of anthro creation (something that a lot of people in that interest don’t care about).

The modeling looks solid for the most part, the only part that’s missing is a proper rendering of them (ie. using either BI or Cycles as opposed to just how they look in the viewport).

Thank you. And I do agree with you that I’m lacking proper rendering for them, but I’m working on that!

OOo, I love all of it! Unique touch to it all!

10/10

Thank you

I’m going to post something I made a while but forgot about. After seeng the OVO Casino trailer making of on the CGBros YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCeg7cDyXVw I instantly fell in love with the casino and said to myself “I have to make this.” and spent a total of 30 hours over the course of 2 days modeling the casino in ROBLOX Studio and Blender, I made most of it in ROBLOX however I could not create the text or V cut-out shape on the front part of the casino’s upper wall in ROBLOX and exported my current progress from ROBLOX to Blender and did the majority of the last 5 hours worth of work in Blender before exporting back into ROBLOX to assemble the sign and cut-out onto the building. I didn’t stop there at just the building either. But lemme show you how it looked in Blender.

And after I got done texturing and placing some assets that a friend made around the casino’s front in the ROBLOX engine

And about a day later I made a quick little scene with the casino, although this never went further then these screenshots.

Although this isn’t really much of a blendery art, I still thought it was good enough to show off a project that took working with two different programs to make happen, and this was my first roblox-blender collab experience.

I’m aware that there are no AK-74’s in Star Wars, but I didn’t want to model a blaster so I just used an older AK model I made earlier this year as a place holder.

Also here are some commissioned works I was hired to do a few months ago,

Generic .44 Magnum

Browning 50 Cal HMG

SVD / Dragonov Sniper

Sniper rifle

M4A1 + Underbarrel grenade launcher

That casino is beautiful.

Also… s n i p e r r i f l e…mmmmmmm

If you don’t quickscope it I will be greatly disappointed.

Modeled a MG-42 in about 3 hours, not meant to be exact detail and scale of the real world weapon but rather a simplified version of it. Can’t wait to render this character with it!
