The waterfall don't receive the shadow

Hi!
I don’t know why my model of waterfall don’t receive the shadow. I’ve made the waterfall using Particle System then I added Halo as Material. Maybe the Halo material don’t receive the shadow? Please help

Note: I deselect Particle System - Cache - External of each Plane because the size of .blend file was too large. Please deselect them.

This is the .blend file:

Halo is more of a postprocess effect, and doesnt receive shadows

Do I have to give up with Halo Material and change to Surface Material?

do you want to render in internal?

I want render in Blender Internal, but I might try in Cycles. Could you advise me something?

you could try point density texures from particles and volume rendering

Ok, I’ll try. Thanks!

Actually, you can probably achieve perfectly-plausible results if you (separately …) render the shadows falling upon a mesh whose position in space approximates that of the waterfall. Extract only the shadow-pass and then composite it upon your existing waterfall render. (After rendering, “composite al dente…”)

“Daresay that no one in the audience will ever notice, let alone object to,” the outcome. “The appropriate water-drops will be believably darkened.”

I see no reason to switch render-strategies, just to accommodate a shadow(!)
