120 res fluid render on modern pc taking far too long

Hi guys so i have a relatively good pc which i recently built and i was looking to do a very quick fluid sim …However it has taken well over an hour and half to bake my sim … my resolution is set to 120 and it it is only reporting to take 167 meg of ram .

my PC specs are

i5 6500
16gb ddr4 2133mhz
gtx 760 2gb
1x120gb ssd
2x 500 gb hdd
650 watt psu

should it realy be taking this system this long to do this sim im pretty sure my old q6600 with only 4gb of ddr 2 took half the time

Ok guys so i checked my cpu whilst doing a fluid sim at 350 res and it is using 100 percent cpu .Does my cpu simply suck lol?

Your CPU is not that slow. http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4790K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-6500

Is it complex? Lots of frames? etc

Also, I recently did a fluid sim at 120 resolution over 1000 frames and it took about 40 minutes on a 4790K. Is your fluid sim cache folder on the SSD or some slower location?
