I was clearing out my bookmarks and stumbled on this site I had bookmarked and forgotten about. 150 extremely high resolution HDRIs (15,000 x 7,500) with no signup, no hoops to jump through, and direct, fast downloads.
What’s even better is the fact that the image quality is stunning.
The license is kinda strange - BY-ND: "NoDerivatives — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you may not distribute the modified material. "
That means you may use them for your projects, but are not allowed to show those projects to anyone (*).
But if you use the HDRIs solely for lighting (i.e. they are not visible in the background or in reflections), noone should notice…
I prefer HDRIs from the Blender Cloud because there are no strings attached
My “Go to” HDRI for testing is from that site. It’s a night with high “artificial” lights (e.g. fluorescents). The quality is outstanding, BUT if rendering on GPU with just 2Gb, you can rapidly run out of vram. I upgraded to a 4gb card purely for that HDRI.
Annoyingly, it’s my test HDRI, and never used in a final project, but what the hell.
Thank you!
Interiors and night HDRis are really good!
Any final conclusion about the license? So if we publish a work where we have used any of those HDRi in our scenes, we must give credit to the author, right?
