The best HDRI source I have found.

I was clearing out my bookmarks and stumbled on this site I had bookmarked and forgotten about. 150 extremely high resolution HDRIs (15,000 x 7,500) with no signup, no hoops to jump through, and direct, fast downloads.

What’s even better is the fact that the image quality is stunning.

I figured at least one person would appreciate this.

Thanks, these are really nice. Although I tend to get mine from Blender cloud.

Funny you should say that. I stumbled across noemotionhdrs.com myself through the Blender cloud. Some of the projects use their HDR images.

Thank you very much for this link!

The license is kinda strange - BY-ND: "NoDerivatives — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you may not distribute the modified material. "

That means you may use them for your projects, but are not allowed to show those projects to anyone (*).

But if you use the HDRIs solely for lighting (i.e. they are not visible in the background or in reflections), noone should notice…

I prefer HDRIs from the Blender Cloud because there are no strings attached

(*) The CC licenses are very strict regarding the scope of a derivative work. For example when you have a song licensend ND, you are not allowed to sync it to a video, because that consists a transformation of the music: https://creativecommons.org/about/program-areas/arts-culture/arts-culture-resources/legalmusicforvideos/

Pretty sure that what the license covers is creating a variant of the image.

Also the explicitly state on the page you can use them for personal and commercial work.

Thanks alot, that is really helpful.

My “Go to” HDRI for testing is from that site. It’s a night with high “artificial” lights (e.g. fluorescents). The quality is outstanding, BUT if rendering on GPU with just 2Gb, you can rapidly run out of vram. I upgraded to a 4gb card purely for that HDRI.

Annoyingly, it’s my test HDRI, and never used in a final project, but what the hell.

Good find. I really need more hi resolution hdris

Looks great for generic outside lightning. Did a test with it. Used a file from blendswap and a denoiser build.

Thank you!
Interiors and night HDRis are really good!

Any final conclusion about the license? So if we publish a work where we have used any of those HDRi in our scenes, we must give credit to the author, right?

If you are looking for nice hdris that are CC-BY you can find some here at https://hdrmaps.com/freebies/
