trouble with specular map

hi guys , im new to the forum so pardon this noob blender artist :eyebrowlift:

ok so, im trying to texture a model which is a bed but the specular look "white"in color not in “specularity”

i dont understand what i do wrong , ive watched some of the videos from youtube but the result still the same

Try setting it up like this:


so that the specular texture only affects the mix between diffuse and glossy

following ageha’s sugestion, you may want to multiply the Specular with a Fresnel or a layer weight.

the problem still exist , however by changing the roughness on the glossy to a lower lever, i ended up with black lines instead of white one .
very strange

oh , i think i got it figured out

i mess with the glossy color
