sometimes blender does not make sense!

using corel software i made a trial slideshow of 4 pic. avi result.
when i put it on a plane after 90 frames it goes to the 2nd frame and stays there.
why only 2?
i have tried several files
any ideas anyone?
as blender seems to be the only software that the kodak frame likes i am kinda stuck with it!
thanks all

No idea what you are talking about

Supply clear and concise examples for review

the video has 4 images one after the other.
when i put it in blender (on a plane as a material) it runs for the length of the video but stops after the second image.
even alt a. same thing. or just move the cursor to where the 3rd image should be and still it is showing the second image.
how much clearer can i get Richard?

just a guess… but i think your timeline is too short?

thanks - that was a good guess.
i even tried 2000. same problem
here is the file

1887 kb is the output from blender file size.
what size can i upload avi fles to this forum?

Sorry, I didn’t understand what you were trying to do earlier.

Here are some tutorials on adding a video to a plane.

This one looks very good.

Hope that helps.

all i wish is for the movie to play past the second slide. very odd i guess that is why it is hard to understand
the links confirmed i am doing everything correct
thanks

would someone unzip the video file and see what happens

here are a before and after blender files.
it is a slideshow of 4 images.
please unzip and put the mov into blender
the blender output i see stays the same image all the way through
i must be missing something obvious!
see what you experts can do with something really simple!
thanks

would somebody PLEASE download the zips and blend file.
i have tried zillions of times.
i works okay if i use the ms sample wmv video of horses, but any slide show video- UH UH.
it stays at the first picture
thanks all

Hi.
Could you share the whole project with the 4 images packed?
To pack the images, open your .blend file and go to File > External data > Pack all into .blend
Then you save the .blend with another name, for example “project_1.blend” and you upload that “project_1.blend” here:
http://pasteall.org/blend/

When it finishes uploading, you share here the new link.

in Texture>Image panel there’s a field where you set how many frames you want to use from your video. Now it is set to 100. Is this correct? If not, raise it or just click on “Match Movie Lenght” button on the right.

YAFU thanks but it is the movie/slide show that i need to work correctly.
isscpp - thanks -don’t quite know what you mean… will give it a try.
EDIT it went from (59) frames 902
to (67) frames 481.
sadly the output was still stuck on frame 1
i can zip the input and output if you wish.
note. as the windows sample was wmf i made the slide show as wmf.
click on it and we can see the four slides.
but not from blender!
thanks

I mean this:
https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/editors/uv_image/image/image_settings.html?highlight=match%20movie%20length

thanks
i really wish you would try with the blend file and zipped input file
would sure save a lot of your time

nothing has changed
and wish to stay with 2.69
thanks

Hi.
I think your problem is basically what someone else has already explained to you.
In Texture tab, where you loaded the movie (and after loading your movie), in the section ‘image’ you press the ‘Match Movie Length’ button. You will see to the left of that button that a new value of ‘frames’ has been set (it is the amount of frames of your movie, this is 480 frames in your example you upload here). Copy that value (480) then also under the Blender ‘Timeline’, in the ‘End’ field.

Thanks
I knew if somebody would only download it they would see what dumb thing i was doing!
so when i see how many frames it should be i ensure the video runs that long!
thanks everyone
