[SOLVED] Move Object With Pose Mode

So I’m working on an animation for a class (my first character rigging/animation so I’m a novice, be gentle) and the character is wielding a sword. I created an empty mesh and placed it around the hand and then parented it to the character model, then parented the sword to the empty mesh. They move if I move stuff around in object mode but if I try moving anything in pose mode, for example if I move the arm, just the arm will move and not the mesh/sword. I’m not sure what I should do here, I don’t really want to move the sword every time I move the arm because it would probably end up looking jittery.

So since you’re talking of ‘Pose Mode’, I guess your character has an Armature and is weight painted to it, right?
In that case you parent the Empty to the hand bone, not the geometry of the character.

I figured it out, turns out I just had to use the bone parent option rather than the regular parent.
