Sculpt mode Symmetry/Lock hotkeys

How can I setup a hotkey toggle for the x,y,z mirror axis (separately) in the “Symmetry/Lock” menu for sculpt mode?

I tried creating my own mapping but managed to crash Blender doing this. Also found an old blender wiki page showing the above mapping to the “x”, “y”, and “z” keys, but that doesn’t seem to be the case in 2.78.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

You can assign hotkeys.

Under the 3D View->Sculpt section, add a new hotkey…

Set its primary value(default is “none”) to…

wm.context_toggle

That will add a new value called Context Attribute. Set it to…
tool_settings.sculpt.use_symmetry_x

Repeat that for the Y and Z values if you need them.
