Squiggly curve creation/animation.

Today I’ve had my first play with a 3d printing pen, quite fun and satisfying.

It made me wonder how the same kind of results could be coaxed out of Blender. I can’t think of anyway this could be done without some Python, and I have seen something similar but I can’t remember where…

To see this object being extruded in an animation would be quite amusing if not interesting.

I guess you’d have to apply a curve to a mesh (swinkwrap ish) , but where the curve overlaid itself it would have to account for, and loop over the underlying curve.

Does anyone know of an addon that could produce these effects?

I don’t want to 3d print the Blender models, it would be for realisation and render purposes only.

Many thanks.
