I usually sculpt female faces, but decided to try an over sized African male. I used a front and side reference for dyntopo. After retopo I looked at those, but also different people and imagination to make it different (than the photo). It’s one of the most realistic sculpts I’ve done. My plan is to add a bunch of birds on him, and cover him with bird seed. I guess he’s going to have rasta dreadlocks and a knitted cap. But I’m not sure if I like those. 100% blender. I don’t even know if I’ll texture it.
For anyone wondering what it looks like along the way, don’t forget all sculpts start as a smooth lump of clay. The whole thing, dyntopo, retopo, multi-res took about 6 hours. That does not include the hat/shirt/dreadlocks. I’m totally open to any ideas/suggestions. If you write it, I’ll try it.
