Office Chair Wheels

Hello, I’m working on a model of a rolling office chair, but I’m having trouble with the wheels.

Here’s the chair.

As you can see, I’ve just done a pair of cylinders with a boolean intersection. My problem isn’t the wheels as much as the cover.

How would I go about modeling the cover so that it doesn’t look weird when Subdivision Surface is applied? Should I use a boolean intersection or just fake it?

Images doesn’t work. I suck at modelling. So I download something similar to find out how it should be, Should be plenty of office chairs and castors to download.

Please attach some images.

No pics working from the original post from what I could tell. However if caster wheels aren’t much more than a simple cylinder, it shouldn’t be too hard to duplicate some faces from a section of the cylinder circumference. Then shrink/fatten that outward (alt-s) for clearance, then extrude by 0, and shrink/fatten outward again for thickness in order to make the caster fender piece. You can just poke some other cylinders through that for the swivel part and axle. No need to over-complicate it.

Thank you for your help, and I apologize for the poor image choice. I’ve finally figured out a satisfactory result-that is, one that won’t get distorted when Subdivision Surface is applied. Interestingly, this one doesn’t use Boolean interaction at at all.
