Importing files from Turbosquid made for other programs

Hello…

My client wants to buy some animals from turbosquid, and I was wondering how well they would import into Blender. I realise that the best method would be to import via .FBX format. does anyone have any experience of this? How well will the rig and animations import?

Thanks!

If you are having problems importing FBX files into Blender, try to convert them first with the (free) Autodesk FBX converter tool --> http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/item?siteID=123112&id=22694909. You can use it to convert the files to an FBX format that plays well with Blender.

Keep in mind, however, that Max/Maya etc. use very different methods to rig things they won’t be perfect. This is true for just about every 3D program, not just Blender.
