How to properly export files from Cinema 4D into blender (help)

First I’d just like to say I apologize if this is going to wrong place please let me know if it is.

I am trying to get some models and Riggs from Cinema 4D into blender to get idea of what I am trying to do here’s a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVnVuc1We0s In that video is me using Riggs made for blender but it seems like Cinema 4D has much better rigs for this type of thing and when I try exporting the rig’s slash models to blender it says that the file type is not supported even though I’m using .obj

and I have seen other people talk about this but they simply just say use .obj but for some reason it says that .obj are not supported file type. If anyone knows how to do this I would greatly appreciate your help.

Obj doesn’t support rigs. Look at your options for .fbx or .dae. Either way though, exporting from another program is only going to bring in bones. Any kind of rigging features(IK, constraints, etc) will be lost.
