Keymap & Questions : for 3D orthographic work - for further enhancement

SCENARIO

Keys are mainly used when working with 3D objects in the 3d workspace in combination with the orthographic top, side and back views. They are a custom set of keys which works for me in this case scenario. It might be helpful for other people witch similar work flow.
As a note it is not better than than the default settings, it just works for me better in this kind of situation. This is also why not more keys are change but limited to these. In the end it is better to stick to the default, or you or someone else must maintain an enhance set of keys.

The general idea for improvement is to limit methods of input, limit amount of hand movement and limit amount of human input action to initiate a computer action within blender.
This is mainly achieved with the the following approach of combining keys in a limit location:

  • by combining the main used keys view and edit keys in a limit location, aswd keys of the keyboard.

  • combine similar keys with same and/or similar keys

  • make use of toggle function (*not yet implemented, see questions)

  • limit the amount of key changes

As as notice these key map is limited to a few keys of the 3D workspace and it is not a complete sets of key maps. Further notice is that it is not working best in all situations and some key changes (especially mouse select) have strange effect. When these keys are not better for other situations and when uncertain it is best to stick with the default key map. These keys are presented here for further improvement and it might be helpful to anyone else.

Best regards

[double middle mouse click] added ‘view3d.select’ again to be able to select and move with middle mouse button (selecting is not required when already selected)

[double middle mouse click] added transform.translateagain to be able to select and move with middle mouse button

Benefit of this latest binding is that when selected you can double middle click anywhere to move or double click on one specific object to move a single object. Right after click again middle button to select translation axes. (In 2d view there is a problem with navigating an translating in this method)

[B]QUESTIONS

For fine tuning and further enhancement a few question.

How to …

… in 3d workspace disable or change rotate view (into 3d workspace) when in orthographic 2d view …

… at border select tweak scroll up to activate lasso select and scroll down to active circle select …

… toggle views with the opposite side (press key for front view and press again for back view) …

… add border selection to selection …

… correct something’ because it disturbs with mouse selection

???

Even better would be that in some scenarios there will be an small auto pup-op menu with related options icons to current action. As reference anyone knows the office text select to bold method or have a look at this :

Firefox add-on: auto-open-context-menu-selected-text

If you want to share custom key config then you can use the export key configuration option in the input editor window.

… add border selection to selection …
Enable the ‘extend’ option in the shortcut settings
