Textures on an aircraft

Hello there,

I really need some help applying a paint scheme to my aircraft. Unfortunately, the .blend file is too large to add to this thread but essentially I want to add some sweeping paint patterns onto the fuselage of my plane.

The problem is that the fuselage is broken up into several parts since there are multiple nose pieces, tail pieces, etc…

From what I can tell, normally you would UV unwrap the fuselage before creating a custom paint texture to plug into the color of your aircraft. However, If I go to unwrap each piece, it is incredibly difficult to get them to line up to achieve a seamless paint job.

Any thoughts would be appreciated greatly!
