Sometimes I need to see where the empties are pointing. Usually I make a child “no collision” cube above them or something,
But is there a way to run the game in some “debug wireframe” mode, that shows empties, invisibles and generally everything ?

Just use a cube instead of a empty, put it on a hidden layer,
Set view to wire, in object settings, set to a material that is wire,
Group the object in a new group set group name to New_Empty.
and move to 0,0,0
Mark the mesh invisible/no collision.
Duplicate the mesh using add object/group New_Empty , (these are psudo empty)
Turn visibility on, in the original on the hidden layer to debug all copies.
yeah what he said or just add a cube and parent it to the empty.
