strange problem during viewport rendering

Hi all, I don’t know if it is the right section (if not moderator move to right thread), but I have a strange problem on a file I’m working;

with the attached file, if you start the viewport render (shift-z) on the left window (border camera view), and then on the right window (perspective view) if you simply switch from solid to wire mode (many times), you can see that the rendering is still going on even if it reach the preview samples :confused:.

Only switching from solid to normal, without changing position or touching the geometry.

Is it a real error or is it normal?

Another problem is about screw modifier (i think);
with the same .blend file, if you render (F12) the object as it is, with all modifiers, you get a result;
then if you convert the object to mesh, you get a different render result (see png attached)

what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks to anyone who can help me :slight_smile:

Hi.

I can not reproduce the first problem , or I do not quite understand what you mean.
Also, you could try downloading daily build of Blender 2.78 and see if the problem is still there:
https://builder.blender.org/download/
Builds are 2.78 of the first links, not those 2.8 below.

The second problem is related to “Steps” and “Render Steps” in Screw modifier:
https://docs.blender.org/manual/ko/dev/modeling/modifiers/generate/screw.html

I really do not understand why the manual makes that clarification regarding values. Intuitively I would have thought that both values should be the same so that render and 3Dview also look the same.
