Variable stiffness along hair

How to achieve that? Imagine you have a haircut on a character with long hair. And you want the hairs to be very stiff at the roots and more flexible at the ends. There’s no stiffness parameter in the texture influence tab.

Change to weight mode, in particle edit. red=stiff, when using dynamics.


Yes, that works as a workaround, thank you. But you can only paint 1 or 0 for some reason and can not make a gradient of the stiffness. But it’s better than nothing.

I found a simplier way for overall (not individual) hair pinning from dynamics. It’s “pinning” attribute in hair dynamics :slight_smile:
