Any good news for AMD-GPU rendering?

Hi,

are there any reasonable hopes that AMD-GPUs will perform on the same level as the NVIDIA-GPUs featurewise in Cycles within the next few month?
I am asking because of the upcoming AMD Vega-line-up - probably 16GB VRAM and a lot of performance…

OpenCL rendering has exactly the same features as CUDA now. Thanks to the donations from AMD. So you can already enjoy it now, well 3 weeks for VEGA

Thanks for the quick answer - did not know that…
Can you say anything about the performance OpenCL und CUDA compared? Any reason to stick to NVIDIA cards at the moment since AMD cards have more “brachial” performance than their counterparts?

note that sorted shader patch wasn’t commited back then. performance in OpenCL have improved further since then. but it was already very good

Also, I believe AMD is working on a render plugin… I stumbled upon some Radeon Pro Render link a while back…
