How to make stable, perhaps seamless stacks of rigid bodies

I’m trying to create stacks of coins, but I’m a noob so I don’t know how to duplicate the coins so that they sit flesh with each other. When I play the animation the coins call together and the stack jitters and bounces until it tips over or breaks somewhere in the middle.

This is a really fun and really quick classic tutorial from andrew price, it uses arrays to stack a bunch of wooden blocks and then smashes them.
