Mac OS Blank Runtime Not Working

Hi,

I’m trying to follow this “very old thread”:

I got it to work on Windows,
But for Mac OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan,
The relative path method doesn’t work.

Any thoughts?

P.S. I just made a random new .blend file, so no point in attaching a .blend.

EDIT: I fixed my previous problem by updating Blender,
and then opening blenderplayer.app in the Blender folder.
(That somehow made Mac OS X “accept” runtimes.)
But again, this only works for exact pathname and not for relative.
