Hi, learning blender 2.78c

  1. anyone using “filmic” or “Blender Light Studio 2.1”? Seeking setup and use tutorials.
  2. After following the filmic install instructions, filmic is not showing up in Color Management --> Display

looking for confirmation filmic works with blender 2.78c

Hi Filmic is not in 2.78c, but you can replace sRGB by filmic by doing the following:
Download filmic and put it in your blender folder - datafiles - and replace the folder colormanagement. (I believe there are instructions for it on the filmic website).

Where you can go to the scene tab in the properties panel - colormanagement: Render - view - Filmic

You need to download it and then go to your Blender installation folder C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.78\datafiles\ , rename the folder named ‘colormanagement’ to something like ‘colormanagement-backup’, copy the filmic-blender-master folder there and rename it to ‘colormanagement’. When you start Blender it should work. It should not show under Display Device, your display device should be set to sRGB because that’s what your monitor is.
