Oh wow just watched that very cool.
Looks like they developed this with money the Blender foundation got from Epic Games (Unreal 4).
I recognize the little statue :-)

I was answered by a post I had on You Tube.
Its from a company who do tours in an actual Catalina plane.

No side door (probably for hull integrity), so yes, entry is through the observation window (which was tied closed with a piece of rope ;-)) Interestingly we were 18 passengers on board plus two pilots and a crewman. There was a point when the pilot begged us to return forward - as quite a few of us were peering out the rear window 'canopy'... This causes the plane to nose-up more than the trim can handle.... Also tapping the hull indicated how thin the skin is, and zero insulation - must have been cold at altitude on a long patrol!

a lot of pilot in WWII toward ends of WWII were wearing these heavy warm leather coat
at high altitude cold is very cold LOL

mind you the Catalina was not flying that high and needed to be not too high to detect sub over Atlantic
but in winter it was still cold out there.

Catalina was long haul and did sink a lot of sub
even if it was not super fast it was still an important part of WWII against Sub.

I wish I could try the Catalina one day would be fun
