Dissolve into Smoke

Hi,
i have a greenscreen shot with a person in the foreground which should dissolve into smoke over time. My plan is to export this footage with transparency and put it on a plane. I already tried to apply the standard smoke effect on a particle system of the plane, but that does not work, because the smoke does not align with the footage in my trial.

Is there a way to bring the smoke into the right shape or make it visible in accordance with the alpha channel of the video?
Is this the right approach or shall I better use a particle system and blow that up ?
I would welcome to your response

Hi Lerosen,

import your image sequence as images as planes. Set import to " animate image sequences". ( I would use png files with alpha channel ).
set the image plane to smoke>flow. under smoke flow advanced check “use texture”. Choose your alpha texture sequence. And set UV.
Create a cube as domain around your imported image plane and set it to smoke domain.
That way you don`t need a particle system and smoke should follow the movement of the person.
should work;) good luck.

Thank you, that worked quite well
