Hair particles start clumping up during animation.

My first model ever is a moose and it has quite a lot of particle hair on it.

If I render a picture of how I modeled it, it looks fine.

But once I start rotating the model during an animation, the hair all goes crazy and clumps up.

I found that if I advance to the frame where the problem starts, recalculate normals, then render that 1 frame, it looks good again.

Is there an automatic way to recalculate normals per frame, is that what I am even supposed to do to fix the problem? Or do I have to render out each frame individually?

Thank you

Turns out hair dynamics was on. also I decided just to rotate the camera around the object rather than rotating the object.
