i wanna make a dark souls like game and use ue4 as the engine
but before is start i realize the first thing i will need is a to know how to make is a human model
is there any good tutorial on how to model humans?
also i will probably need to split the model into 4 parts
head, torso, arms and legs
so i can reuse them when changing the character equipment (if you change the torso it will change the torso model for the chosen torso armor piece)
how do i avoid getting seams in the separated parts? or is that more related to the engine?
i plan on making a male and female version but on the beginning i gonna do just the male to make things simpler
i will reuse this human model quite a lot so i wanna make it very good
can someone run me through the basics of character creation?
you know drawing a reference image then modeling the base mesh them sculpting the retopologizing etc…
i’m not sure if i got it right yet i just wanna make sure
its important to note that i want to make character creation later, likely using shapekeys
i will probably make multiple head models to be used a race base them use the shapekeys for minor customization
i’m not sure its the right way to do this because it may leave a seam in the neck
any tips not just on the modeling of the base but on the sculpting and retopo will be usefull
thanks for the answers
