Empty View Port in Rendered View

Hello,
I got started with Blender last Friday, and am working my way through the Beginner Series by Andrew Price.
Actually I’m getting along just fine, but when I go into rendered view, I only get the little checkerboard pattern.
I do have light in my scene, and when I render my scene through F12 I do get a proper result. It’s all there. Colors, textures…
Does anybody have an idea what could be the reason for that?
I might add that it did work the first couple of times as I was working along with the video.

Another question: is there a place where I can introduce myself here? Or do I just jump in?

Thanks in advance,
Daisies

Insufficient info.

For support questions it is mandatory to ALWAYS supply a demo .blend file that clearly demonstrates the problem. Without that we have to rely on guesswork based on usually worthless information

Ah okay. I can see the point.
Thank You for the pointer.

Now I just hope I get this file into this post.
