Rigging a slime blob with cloth physics?

I have been trying to work on a game character that is a slime with dynamic physics and I can actually control. I’ve tried turning it into a soft body which works well for the springiness I’m looking for but when I try to test it in the blender game engine, it barely moves. Any suggestions? Also would like to know what settings to export the fbx for unreal.
