Convert Fluid Simulation into Keyframes?

Hi,
Is there a way to convert Fluid simulation into keyframes?
Unlike other physics sims, the option “Bake to Keyframes” is greyed out.

Each frame of the fluid sim is a separate mesh so there is nothing to keyframe.
Why do you need to do this ? What do you want to do with the fluid simulation.

What I’d like to do is to be able to manipulate the fluid animation after it’s baked so I can reuse the animation instead of having to recreate a similar simulation in the same scene.

For example, if I can see the keyframes, I can do simple manipulations like:

  • duplicate a frame to freeze it a number of frames then release it.
  • scale the fluid animation’s timing to match the timing of other moving objects in a scene.
