Looking for a work around IK handle parenting.

So I have a rig with IK arms and I want to be able to switch from FK to IK. When IK is turned off the Hand controller does not follow the rig. Easy solution parent it to the hand bone.

When this happens it causes all the movements to be quick and overly sensitive.

Watched several tutorials that seem fine. Including one from 7.77 wondering what the work around is or if I am missing something.

Look at the Rigify add-on - enable it and read the help before playing with it, this will show you exactly how to set up a FK/IK switch.

You add a Rigify Meta-rig - then hit “generate” to get the full rig.

But you’ll want to dig into Rigify’s code. There’s an IK/FK switch function as well as functions to force a position match from FK and IK or vice versa.
