Why is my environment lighting still effecting other materials?!?!

How do I get my environment lighting not to effect my other materials? I’ve been at this for a few hours and its really annoying

under the ray visibility section in the world properties, uncheck all but camera.

or you could mix shader with texture and black factored by light path(i think thats what its called?) node camera socket.

It is, however, a fact of life that the environment will affect the way your materials look. Unless you are going for some weird stylistic look, why don’t you want it to?

I often use environment for camera only (maybe glossy) and substitute its lighting effects with normal lighting, as it helps me greatly in handling noise (i.e. sun & sky instead of lit by hdri). I think all of my hdri collection containing a visible sun is clipped anyway.

use world nodes (trick/example) to your advantage
