Apply hair dynamics to particle edit

Just wondering if it’s possible to do this. I don’t see a button or command to apply or bake the dynamics simulation, but it would be really helpful to first let the particles drop, and then be able to edit them afterwards. Does anyone know how to do this?

Note: I also did a search for this topic but from my understanding it was unresolved…

I am not just sure but I think it is possible with hair net addon.
Bake dynamics -> Convert it to Curve -> Use Curve to create a new particle system from hair net addon.
