Issue Orbiting Around Selected

Hi

This is my first post on the forums, so hopefully I don’t break any rules :stuck_out_tongue: I’m also fairly new to blender, but have a long history with max & maya. So far I’m actually preferring blender, it’s just getting used to the user interface that I’m struggling with.

I’ve having a problem orbiting around a selected object. In my user preferences, “Rotate Around Selected” is checked and works perfectly most of the time. But as soon as I switch to sculpt mode, the view starts rotating around the floor. The user preferences haven’t changed (I’ve checked to make sure it didn’t uncheck itself), and when going back out to object or edit mode, it goes back to working correctly. I’ve tried using the focus shortcut, which focus’ the view on the object, but then it still rotates the view around the floor.

Please help!

I’m also from max/maya. This is my personal configuration:


Note: F is bound to view_selected in 3D_VIEW context which means it will work same way throughout 3D view (including sculpt mode)
