AMD ProRender installed but not in render engine list

This has been bugging the hell out of me, lately. I downloaded and installed the recently released AMD ProRender plugin for Blender and went through all the steps outlined in the PDF, but when I go to choose it from among the listed render engines, it’s not listed. Not even listed in User Preferences panel, for addons.

I am on Windows 10, with a GTX 1070, and even uninstalled it and Blender (2.78c) then re-installed them both to see if that might help. No joy.

Anyone else having similar issues getting ProRender to work in Blender?

Is it possible you have two versions of Blender installed? The installer goes and looks for blender installed on your system and puts the addon in the folder for that. Maybe uninstalling old versions of blender if so.

I uninstalled a Blender for VRay version and updated my graphic card drivers (even though it wasn’t even a month since I had done so), and it seemed to work…finally. Thanks.
