Rocket Animation Project

Hello,

I don’t usually do WIPs, but this project is quite big for me, so I’m looking for feedbacks.

I’m currently working on a short film, about 2:30min long. I’ve done all the layout and most of the modelling, texturing and a very simple rigging system for the rocket.

The short is a comtemplative story about a rocket travelling through Space.

Everything is done in Blender, except some texturing done in Substance Painter.

Most of the work now is animating a few shots, and spend a lot of time for FX and post prod-production.

Here is a small teaser :

Thanks for stoping by !

That is too sweet. The texturing and the lighting is spot on!

My only gripe is the smoke at the end - to me it looks like basic Blender smoke and it looks like the rocket has some kind of fire raging inside. Was it supposed to look like rocket ignition or gas venting?

Hello Efly,

Thanks for your reply and your comment. Indeed the smoke is an quick and dirty test. It needs some work, it is supposed to be a ‘preheat’/gas venting smoke before the launch.

Thanks again!

Great style! It is kind of “cute” I am excited to see more :eyebrowlift:
