Fluid simulation disappearing when viewed at different angles + floating water

Hi all,
Having a few weird problems with my fluid simulation and not sure what’s going on.

Floating water: I have tried setting the volume initialisation to Shell and Both, neither seem to work. Interestingly my other obstacles have been set to Shell and they work fine. Any ideas how to stop the water from floating?

Water (now you see it): note camera angle

Water (disappeared): note slightly different camera angle. I have the clipping set to start=0.001 and end=1000. Any ideas why the water vanishes when viewed at different angles?

Thanks in advance!

volume initialisation just determines, how much water will be emitted at every time. To stop the inflow, just uncheck “enable” - or better keyframe it (otherwise it will be off the whole time)
To be more precise: volume initialisation determines, wheter the outer shell of the object or the inner volume get used in the simulation (just hover your mouse over the dropdown elements and blender will show some hint)

Umm - not really. I guess your scene isn’t that big that it clips anyway?

I have had the exact same issue before and was unable to find a solution ;(
