Emission Shader on Transparant background

Hi all,

I’m having this issue with a bezier curve with an emission shader attached to it, when i render the line is much brighter were there is a surface beneath it. What is causing this and how can i avoid it?

I’m sure it’s an optical illusion. With the black background, your image contrast is higher than with the grey background, so it looks brighter.
