I find your lack of frame rate disturbing

Heyall, returning to blender after a long time, first time on Blenderartists, super excited to learn a lot here!

So, I’ve noticed that I’ve been having a lot of difficulty in the render view while I have literally any other window open (Chrome, Crazybump, and/or Adobe Anything).

Specs:
GTX 1080
MSI Z97S Mobo (only supports up to DDR3 I believe)
8GB DDR3 RAM
i5 4670K @ 3.4GHz

My processor is a hold over from my previous build, so thats gotta be like 4 years old at this point. Would upgrading the processor help, or is it a RAM issue?

buy another small gpu for your display and let the 1080 do its thing in the background.

rendering uses a lot of your computers power so things will lag.
