wind problem

hopefully this is the correct forum!
anyway i need to make a 6 second video at 30fps.
i can do that.
but the wind is blowing the flags untidily for the first 80 frames or so.

how do i get the wind to blow and get rid of the awkward stuff THEN do the recording for 180 frames?

or is there a better way.

i tried making the video longer and then chopping off the start . but there must be a better way.

starting the video at frame 80 means no wind at all!

the video will be a menu in another video. so all flags have to behave themselves!
thanks all

the problem is that you realy need to precalculte physics for all that flags. there is no better way… Im quite sure. you have to precalculate that 80 frames or so. My suggestion to you is to is to set the start time and end time of the simulation to different values for each flag. Dont do it extreme. That way you make it random. Also add some noise to the windforce…maybe 0.666 is good:eyebrowlift2:. You realy have to do that physics precalcultion in my experience. Then you are on the right way. Bake everything and render out the frames you need.
Hopefully I understand your wind problem and this helps.

i did not know i could pre calculate them.
to me…the flags are fine as they are.
they just droop at the start.
thanks

they droop at the start cos the wind does not start at frame 1!
so i need to know how to cache the action after the wind starts.
how do i do that?
thanks
