My first BGE game, Mycellium

It’s an old story. You probably know it already.
A young soul, seeking to make a game all his own. Familiar with Blender, but intimidated by the game engine.
A couple of siblings encouraging him, the impromptu game jam, the scope creep, the art team breaking off into a splinter project. The eventual disillusionment. The last minute crunch to finish something presentable before I had to pack up my computer and head home to put the kids to bed.

And thus, I present Mycellium.http://peripheralarbor.com/mushroom/Mycellium.blend
It has an ending even… of sorts.

Feedback welcome!

What a wonderful game  I really enjoyed playing it. I think it was a little hard to figure out how to climb at first but then I got the hang of it. I also fell off the edge on the left side once.

Wow, great job dudecon! I like the way new mushrooms pop out. Your game at least don’t crash everybody’s computers ;).

If you ever feel like teaming up with me, send me a PM! It’ll be great.

Fun! I’ve never played anything in Blender’s game engine before. I like the simplicity of it and the joy of so many mushrooms.
I hope your tale as a developer continues, though if you wanted to stop now, it’s okay you’ve already won

@Nicholas_A Thanks so much! Do you remember how you managed to fall off the side? I thought I had the position constrained in the python script… Apparently game development is hard!

@#BlenderDude Yeah, the mushroom spawn was just a placeholder while my sister did the animation, but you know how these things go.
Yeah, that could be fun. PM me if you have something specific in mind.

@AstroRobyn A first time for everything! Yay for joyful games!

The mushroom just had fallen through the ground somehow.

Updated the game so you can’t fall off the bottom of the world any more. Plus a variety of other little updates.
