How to model spiral wire without stretching

Hello,
I have modeled a spiral wire using screw modifier and curve modifier. But in bends the wire is stretching/shrinking. how can I fix that? Thanks.

I think he means to create the spring shape using curves, then you can manipulate the shape without deformations.
