I just finished this model of a medieval cannon, but I would still like to improve it. However, I don’t really know what to do. That’s why I’d like to get some focused critique by Blender users that are more exprienced than I am. Feel free to say anything that could improve my artwork. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks for your quick replies. I hadn’t noticed my own mistakes, and I’ll work on the barrel and the bore. I’ll post a picture of the improved model soon.
PS: Do you have any tips on texturing the wood? I have an educational license for Substance Painter, but I can’t really find any textures that would fit my model.
I’d like to texture it a it like this one: https://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/73922
When I look at your model, the first thing I think is how clean the modelling is.
I don’t know anything about substance painter, but you could make hand-painted texture mask to get the rust to show up. For the wood, Just need a good scratch and crevices map. For the barrel, you can do the same but it will be a lot time consuming and tougher to achieve that same result. I like it. I like the perspective too.
