I wanted to recreate one of the Vortex Optics Scopes for a while now and this weekend I finally got around to doing it.
I’m still trying to figure out a good looking and fast workflow which let’s me create a high poly normal map for the lowpoly without using a SubD Mesh, so I can boolean the shit out of everything
Also, please tell me everything that you think sucks about the renders.
The detail shot could use a bit more samples and a little less denoise, I know
IMO, there’s a need for a story…
better lighting, enhancing form, lines, details for eyes to travel & then a focal point for them to take a rest
maybe adding some extra elements to put main object into context, reveal scale, intent, meaning, function…
more complex shading - add iridescence, more pronounced on glass (it’s probably has some special coating) & on other parts (varying iridescence)…
