atekdigital here are 2 courses I am interested in. The first has alot of great tips on using the snap tools that I had no idea about. I am a bit of a beginner. https://www.udemy.com/house-design-in-blender/learn/v4/content The second I will purchase later. I am not using Archimesh because I want to learn to use Blender’s built in tools. https://www.blender3darchitect.com/course/course-about-architectural-documentation-with-blender-and-freestyle/ I hope you find the addon you are looking for. Maybe someone at Udemy or blender3darchitect know of one. Brent

You could just use Blender’s existing functionality. Polygonal modeling tools are definitely advanced enough to mimic most of 2d CAD functionality only without libraries of 2d drawings like furniture or cars or other standard stuff. You can convert polygon edges to curves. Making basic library of 2d drawings of chairs or sofas might be easier than it seems. Most good furniture manufacturers provide CAD drawings of their furniture for interior designers, you could nick a few things. The way I see it even using professional CAD software one might often want to use their own library of drawings anyway. I am just saying, I think it can be easier to make/collect all the stuff you need for floor plans from scratch than it seems.

I don’t know of any “pure 2D” floor plan editor that works like the one in the video. While something like that should be possible with Blender, it would be a huge amount of work to add. To do something like that as an add-on, I would guess most of it would have to be built from scratch using Blender’s basic OpenGL interface.

If it’s mainly the 2D accessories like a bed and cars that you’re interested in, I would go with MartinZ’s suggestion. Create your own library of “2D” assets (maybe as textured planes?) and then drag them around on top of another flat surface (another textured plane?) that represented the floor.

Go to udemy and watch some of Thomas McDonald’s free previews on SVG import. Look at his course descriptions and you will see the free videos. His courses are great. And cheap for the next 4 days. There is a 14.5 hour course, if you look at the descriptions or curriculum that teach you how to make alot of the objects in the course. Good Luck.

Thanks for replying. Link plz where can i find the course or free videos

https://www.udemy.com/create-your-dream-kitchen-in-blender/learn/v4/content Please see section 4,“converting the svg contents to a Mesh.” Some of his other courses may have similar content so check them out if you are considering purchasing. As well check out this. https://www.udemy.com/blender-3d-for-new-comers-using-cycles-render-engine/learn/v4/overview There is alot of info in this course for a beginner. Watch some of the free videos.
