Tips on SpaceCraft

Hello, I need help on making the ship more detailed and have a better texture.

Include some more smaller details on the spaceship such as pipes and access panels. Tiny ridges and panels over the body would make it look like it was constructed out of spaceship materials and parts and not as a single object.

Consider materials and how they could build things and how it works. I personally do not like the shape you have in the front right now, but if you are certain you want to keep it maybe it will be a winning design if improved upon.

If you are new to cg take a look at this page:

You might also want to take a look at this thread: https://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?196191-The-Giant-Spaceship-Thread

Think of the image as if it’s a story you want to tell.

Is this spaceship an expensive one? Why did somebody build it? Can it carry something, or does it rather destroy things? Should it have a license plate or is it owned by a pirate?

Right now, there is not much to look at, and I don’t understand what’s the purpose of the frontal structure and the red lights. Once you have a story, you can just fill in the necessary details, one by one.

In addition to the above very good advice, consider making some sketches showing how you want it to turn out. Looks like you started building a snow-speeder from Star Wars V and then got bored and added some cubes to the front.
You need some kind of goal. Just “more detailed” and “better textures” doesn’t mean anything without some kind of goal.

For example, here’s a spaceship I made based on a piece of bark I found lying on the ground, with the goal of mapping out all the functional systems: https://www.patreon.com/posts/tramp-destroyer-13621819

Here’s a spaceship I made based on pictures of the LHC, and a story I was writing at the time: http://peripheralarbor.com/gallery/v/CG+Art/spaceship08.jpg.html

And here’s one based on a friends floorplans he made for a StarWars collaborative fiction: http://peripheralarbor.com/gallery/v/oldpics/Sacul/

As you can see they are all quite different and none of them very detailed or textured, even though they had a lot of reference art. If you want it to be photoreal, you’re going to need way more reference (and spend way more time) than I did.

Thanks everyone for helping me add to my design. I look forward to show my edited model.

Sorry for bumping an old topic, but I felt this might be helpful.
